About Ali Baba Constructions
An owner-run renovation company serving the Greater Toronto Area, started by Kumail Ali on Canada Day, 2018, and built on families referring us to one another.

Where we started
Kumail Ali started Ali Baba Constructions on July 1, 2018, Canada Day. The company has stayed deliberately small. Kumail meets you at the house, prices the work in writing and runs the job himself, with licensed trades for the electrical, plumbing and heating.
Most of our work comes from past customers sending us their friends, family and neighbours. That is the standard we build to: a job you would be comfortable putting your name to when a relative asks who did your kitchen.
- You can always reach Kumail. He answers the phone, and he is the person on site.
- The price is in writing before work starts, and if anything changes, you hear about it first.
- Estimates are free. A site visit, a conversation and a written quote, at no charge.
- Licensed trades for licensed work. Electrical, plumbing and heating are done by licensed tradespeople.

How Kumail runs a job
One site visit, one written estimate and one person on site from the first day to the final walkthrough. Kumail plans the work with you and brings in licensed trades for the electrical, plumbing and heating.

Plan, finishes and timeline
Materials, finishes and the schedule are settled with you before anything is ordered or opened up.
Permits and registration
If your job needs a building permit, or a basement unit needs to be registered with the City, we say so at the estimate and build it into the plan.
The build
Kumail runs the site day to day. Electrical, plumbing and heating work is done by licensed trades he works with regularly.
Final walkthrough
We walk the finished space with you, room by room, and anything that is not right is fixed before we call the job done.

Kumail is the owner, the estimator and the person on site, so there is no salesperson and no handoff, and the phone is answered by the person doing the work. The scope and the price are in writing before anything is ordered or opened up, and if something has to change you hear it from him first, with the reason. Licensed trades do the electrical, plumbing and heating. The job is not called done until you have walked it with him.
