Commercial renovations in the GTA

Retail units, restaurants and offices need the same thing a house does: one person who prices the work in writing, runs the site every day and brings in licensed trades for the licensed work. Ali runs a commercial job the way he runs a home, with the landlord's requirements and your opening date built into the plan from the first visit.

Commercial Renovations

What this usually includes

Every commercial job starts with a site visit. Ali walks the unit with you, reads the landlord's rules for the space and your drawings if you have them, and gives you a written estimate with the scope and the price before anything is ordered. Licensed trades do the electrical, plumbing and heating, and the permits and inspections are planned around your opening date.

  1. Demolition and removal of the previous fit-out
  2. Steel stud framing and new partition walls
  3. Drywall, taping and ceilings
  4. Flooring, tile and millwork
  5. Painting and finishes to your brand's specification
  6. Washrooms and kitchen areas, with the plumbing by licensed trades
  7. Electrical, lighting and heating and cooling by licensed trades
  8. Permits, landlord approvals and inspections planned from the start

Our process

How your renovation runs

Five steps, the same on every job, so you always know what happens next and who is doing it.

Request a free estimate
  1. Site visit and written estimate

Ali comes to your home, looks at the space with you and talks through what you want. You get a written estimate at no charge, with the scope spelled out.

  2. Plan, finishes and timeline

Materials, finishes and the schedule are settled with you before anything is ordered or opened up.

  3. Permits and registration

If your job needs a building permit, or a basement unit needs to be registered with the City, we say so at the estimate and build it into the plan.

  4. The build

Ali runs the site day to day. Electrical, plumbing and heating work is done by licensed trades he works with regularly.

  5. Final walkthrough

We walk the finished space with you, room by room, and anything that is not right is fixed before we call the job done.

FAQ

Commercial renovations: common questions

Do you take on commercial work, or only houses?

Both. Fit-outs and renovations for retail units, restaurants and offices run the same way as our residential work: a site visit, a written estimate, licensed trades for the licensed work and Ali on site.

Can you work around an opening date?

Tell us the date at the site visit and we will tell you what can realistically be done before it. The permits, the landlord's approvals and the inspections go into the schedule from the start.

Who deals with the landlord and the permits?

We do. The landlord's requirements for the unit are read before the estimate so the scope covers them, and the permit applications and inspections are handled with you as the job runs.
