Entry hall with large glossy white veined floor tiles, a gold mirror over a console and a curved staircase

Flooring Installation

New floors change how the whole house feels. We install hardwood, engineered wood, vinyl plank, laminate and tile on a subfloor that has been levelled and prepared first, with the transitions, baseboards and stair nosings finished so the floors look as if they were always there.

Request a free estimate
  1. Site visit and written estimate

Kumail comes to your home, looks at the space with you and talks through what you want. You get a written estimate at no charge, with the scope spelled out.

  2. Plan, finishes and timeline

Materials, finishes and the schedule are settled with you before anything is ordered or opened up.

  3. Permits and registration

If your job needs a building permit, or a basement unit needs to be registered with the City, we say so at the estimate and build it into the plan.

  4. The build

Kumail runs the site day to day. Electrical, plumbing and heating work is done by licensed trades he works with regularly.

  5. Final walkthrough

We walk the finished space with you, room by room, and anything that is not right is fixed before we call the job done.

FAQ

Flooring: common questions

Which flooring holds up in a busy house?

For a home with children, parents and a steady stream of guests, vinyl plank and porcelain tile stand up to traffic, spills and wet boots. Hardwood and engineered wood look the richest, and solid hardwood can be refinished later. Kumail walks you through the options at the site visit.

Can you replace the carpet on the stairs at the same time?

Yes. Stairs are usually redone with the floors so the species, stain and sheen match. Our Stairs and Railings page covers what that involves.
